Concrete Foundations & Footings

The solid base your building needs to stand strong for decades.

Concrete foundation formwork installation in Blue Springs Missouri

Why Your Foundation Matters

Your foundation is the most important part of any structure. It supports the entire building, distributes weight evenly, and protects against settling and structural damage. A poorly installed foundation leads to cracks, uneven floors, and serious structural problems that are expensive to fix.

At RealDeal Blue Springs Concrete, we pour residential and light commercial foundations that meet local building codes and stand the test of time. Whether you're building a new home, adding a garage, or constructing an outbuilding, we handle everything from excavation to final pour.

Types of Foundations We Install

We pour several types of foundations depending on your project needs:

  • Slab-on-grade: A single-pour foundation that combines the foundation and floor. Cost-effective and common for garages, sheds, and single-story buildings.
  • Stem wall foundations: A perimeter footing with vertical walls that support the structure. The interior can be a slab or crawl space.
  • Footings: Load-bearing supports for posts, columns, and walls. We pour footings for decks, pergolas, additions, and fence posts.
  • Basement foundations: Full or partial basement walls that provide extra living or storage space below ground level.

During your consultation, we assess your site, discuss your building plans, and recommend the right foundation type for your project and budget.

How We Build a Foundation

A quality foundation starts below ground. We excavate to the proper depth based on local frost lines and soil conditions. In Blue Springs, that's typically 30-36 inches below grade to prevent frost heaving.

Next, we install a compacted gravel base for drainage and stability. We build forms to define the shape and elevation of the foundation. We place steel rebar according to engineering specs to give the concrete strength and prevent cracking. Then we pour the concrete, vibrate it to remove air pockets, and finish the surface.

After the pour, the concrete needs time to cure. We keep it moist and protected for at least 7 days. Most foundations reach working strength in 7-10 days, but full strength takes 28 days.

We coordinate with your builder or framing crew to ensure the foundation is ready when they need it. If you're acting as your own general contractor, we walk you through the next steps and answer any questions.

Why Experience Matters

Foundation work isn't something you want to cut corners on. Mistakes at this stage are costly to fix later. We've been pouring foundations in Blue Springs since 2024, and we understand local soil conditions, drainage needs, and building codes.

We work closely with inspectors to ensure your foundation passes code requirements. We also coordinate with excavators, engineers, and builders to keep your project on schedule.

We're licensed, insured, and committed to quality work. When you hire us, you work with experienced professionals who take pride in their work and stand behind it. We also handle related projects like concrete slabs and retaining walls if your project needs more than just a foundation.

Signs of Foundation Problems

If you have an existing building with foundation issues, we can assess the damage and recommend solutions. Common signs of foundation problems include cracks in walls or floors, doors and windows that stick, uneven or sloping floors, and gaps between walls and ceilings.

Not all foundation issues require full replacement. Sometimes we can stabilize or repair the existing foundation. We provide honest assessments and realistic solutions during our free consultation.
