Concrete Slabs & Flatwork
Strong, level concrete surfaces for sheds, garages, and more.

What Is Concrete Flatwork?
Concrete flatwork is any horizontal concrete surface. That includes garage floors, shed pads, barn floors, equipment pads, basketball courts, and more. Basically, if you need a flat, durable surface that can handle weight and weather, we pour it.
At RealDeal Blue Springs Concrete, we specialize in residential and light commercial flatwork. Whether you're building a new structure and need a solid base, or you want to upgrade your existing gravel pad to something more permanent, we handle the entire process from excavation to final finish.
Why a Quality Slab Matters
A concrete slab might seem simple, but doing it right takes experience and attention to detail. A poorly installed slab can crack, settle, or drain water the wrong direction. That leads to structural issues, moisture problems, and costly repairs.
Here's what we do to make sure your slab lasts:
- •Site prep: We excavate and remove unstable soil, tree roots, and debris. A clean, level base is critical.
- •Grading and drainage: We slope the slab away from buildings to prevent water pooling and foundation damage.
- •Compacted base: A solid gravel base prevents settling and cracking under heavy loads.
- •Reinforcement: Steel rebar or wire mesh adds strength and controls cracking, especially for larger slabs or heavy equipment.
- •Proper thickness: We match the slab thickness to your intended use. Shed pads are typically 4 inches, while garage floors and equipment pads may be 5-6 inches.
- •Quality concrete mix: We use the right mix for your application, with additives for weather resistance and durability.
Common Flatwork Projects
We pour slabs for a wide range of residential and commercial uses. Some of the most common projects include:
Garage floors: A smooth, level garage floor makes parking, working, and storing easier. We can add a broom finish for traction or polish the surface for a clean, finished look.
Shed and storage pads: Protect your investment with a solid concrete base that keeps your shed or storage building level and dry.
Equipment pads: Whether you need a pad for an HVAC unit, generator, or farm equipment, we size and reinforce the slab to handle the load.
Basketball and sport courts: A level concrete surface is perfect for backyard sports. Add striping and hoops for a complete setup.
Barn and workshop floors: Concrete stands up to heavy use, making it ideal for barns, workshops, and agricultural buildings.
How We Install Your Slab
Most flatwork projects take 2-4 days from start to finish. We begin with excavation and site prep, then install the gravel base and compact it thoroughly. Next, we set forms to define the edges and ensure proper elevation. We place reinforcement (rebar or mesh) and pour the concrete. After leveling and finishing, we let the concrete cure for at least 24-48 hours before removing forms.
You can walk on the slab after a few days, but wait at least 7 days before parking vehicles or placing heavy equipment. Full strength is reached at 28 days.
Built for Blue Springs Conditions
Blue Springs soil and weather conditions require specific techniques. We've been pouring concrete in this area since 2024, and we understand what works. We use air-entrained concrete to resist freeze-thaw damage, and we time our pours to avoid temperature extremes that can weaken the concrete.
We're local, licensed, and committed to quality work. When you hire us, you get experienced crews, clear communication, and a slab you can count on. We also offer related services like concrete foundations and driveways if your project needs more than a simple slab.
